Public Utilities
We take the responsibility to notify the Ohio Utilities Protection Service regarding your project. OUPS will notify the local utility companies that work is scheduled for your property. Those companies will mark their lines using spray paint or state that they don not have utilities at your address. We will take into account the marked lines when determining the final location of the work to be done. Should marked utilities be interrupted or damaged due to construction either we or the utility company, depending on the accuracy of the markings, will accept the repair cost.

Private Utilities
The property owner takes the responsibility for the location and markings of all private utilities such as, but not limited to, underground lines to detached garages or other buildings, lamp posts, irrigation systems, dog detainment lines, landscape lighting or other landscape features that require private utilities. Should unmarked and unforeseen private utilities be interrupted or damaged due to construction, the cost of the repair is the responsibility of the property owner.
